We saw these in the coupon flyer for this month and we thought they were worth a try.
With the $3 off coupon, a 12 pack of mini pizzas were only about $7, which is a good price. There were six pepperoni and six cheese pizzas in the package. They are all individually packaged, which does make them easy to serve if you want just one or two of them.
At about 3.4 ounces each, they are definitely snack sized pizza, although we did cook up a couple each for lunch.
As for the taste, they are fine, but nothing outstanding. With the coupon, they were a good value, so we have no regrets about buying them. Will we buy them again? Probably not, just because there are things that are a better fit for our needs.
I do see people with families buying them because they are the right size for kids, they definitely are cute and they cook up very easily in a toaster oven.
They might also work well as something for a party, as a snack or as and "emergency lunch or dinner".
Depending on your needs, these may or may not be a good choice. But I can definitely say this: while not a stellar value, they are a quality item at a decent price with the coupon
do you know where you can still buy these?
ReplyDeleteu can still buy them at costco
ReplyDeleteThe original mini pizza, and when I say original I meant the variety being sold at Costco when the Sabatasso's Mini Pizza was first introduced, is not being sold at Costco anymore. They did substitute it with another Sabatasso's Mini Pizza, called Deep Dish. Too much bread, too little cheese. My kids don't eat, and I have no more reason to buy it. I don't believe this is a good pizza at all. I used to buy a box a week, because my children's school have microwave ovens, so my kids took it for lunch quite often. Now I have a box almost full in the freezer, and nobody likes it.
ReplyDeleteWe agree and do not like the deep dish. The added calories are not worth the extra bread and lack of cheese. They don't bake as nicely as the thinner crust pizza and we too will no longer buy this brand unless they bring back the thinner crust. We bought a box a week too and now have a full box of the deep dish in our freezer that most likely won't ge eaten. Please bring back the original!!
ReplyDeleteWe finally found a calorie responsible way to enjoy pizza and it disappeared from Costco. Please bring back the Sabatasso's thin and crispy singles. The deep dish do not fit our needs at all. Way too much bread and calories.
ReplyDeleteI bought 4 to 6 boxes a month of the mini pizza's, but the deep dish ones are awful.......too much bread and not enough of anything else. PLEASE PLEASE can you get the mini's thin & crispy back. I live in Hawaii and the SABATASSO'S thin & crispy mini pizza's were the best. I have 9 in my family and that is the only pizza I purchased.
ReplyDeleteBought the thin crust and followed cooking instructions for both microwave and conventional oven. What a disappointment!
ReplyDeleteMushy in the micro, tasteless made conventionally.
DEEP DISH SABATASSO'S MINI PIZZAS ARE THE BEST THING EVER
ReplyDeleteI EAT 2 - 4 MINI PIZZAS A DAY TO STAY STRONG
I purchased Sabatasso"s "Pizza Singles " 12 in a Box 6 Pepperoni and 6 Cheese. They were the worst individual pizza I have ever eaten, the Pepperoni was disgusting and the cheese was no better. They were cooked in a conventional oven not microwaved. They are now in the garbage.Wasted Money
ReplyDeletemy hubby and I love them, we just had 2 each for dinner...they added cheese (it's a 6 cheese pizza now), and looks like they put more cheese on the pepperoni. It's really best when cooked in oven, but for just myself, I don't mind the microwave when I'm rused.
ReplyDeleteWe like pizza in general- I would not like a daily diet of them but they are pretty good if you need something fast and easy- prefer oven but micro wave is ok if you are pressed for time. I'd buy them again especially for emergencies.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know where to still buy the cheese ones in Canada? Years ago I used to buy them at Costco, but now the Costco's near my area only ever seem to carry the Deluxe ones.
ReplyDeleteThey contain l cysteine which is comprised of either human hair or goose feathers.
ReplyDeleteI too do not like the new pizza. When I first purchased at Costco they were so delicious now they have absolutely no flavour. Why do companies change ingredients or skip on an ingredient....it really shows in the product.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why everyone is whining about this product. It tastes the same as it did before 15 years ago, only now they seem to have added thin pepp. slices.
ReplyDeleteFlavorless? ha ha ha... whatever.
Sabatasso's is the bomb.
