The current coupon book ends tomorrow 1/29 and I thought I would make a few comments about this fun dip that is on sale.
It comes in a 24oz container, so there is enough if you want to serve a larger group of people. As for the dip itself, it is a competent, well made product that I think has a lot of uses. It has a bit of heat that builds but it is not heat only for the sake of heat, it definitely has flavor.
However, it is not an overpowering flavor, so it should be a good crowd pleaser. People that want some "zing" in their dip will like it but those with milder tastes will not find it overpowering.
And I think it is versatile too. We had it with some the Garlic and Black Bean Tostitos that I am fond of and it worked pretty well.
My wife also suggested that it would be great on baked potatoes and I think that would be a excellent thing to do to a spud.
I also see this as a garnish on Mexican style dishes.
While not the most amazing dip on the planet it is a good product and being yogurt based, it is probably healthier for you than something based on sour cream.
I recommend the product and the next time it is on sale, we will probably buy it again
I bought this dip and loved it. Went back for more and am told by Costco that it has been deleted. They checked and found me one location that still had some. So I went there and bought ten yogurts and have frozen them. I hope Costco gets this item back again, before I run put of this dip. It is sooo good and versatile.
ReplyDeleteI love this dip on so many things, and when I went to buy more it was gone. Why?????? So, where else can I get it? I need it in my life!
ReplyDeleteMe, too!! Costco, please bring back this product!!!!
ReplyDeleteI recently bought this and love it. Tonight I took 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts and placed in a baking dish. Then I put a half inch thick layer of the yogurt on top of the chicken and sprinkled thyme and rosemary on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. It was delicious and my husband says he wants me to make this often!!!
ReplyDeleteNot sure what part of the country you guys are in where you can't get it anymore, but it's still in stock in Denver as of July 2012. Has been for a while. Now if only we had Kirkland Greek yogurt back on our shelves...
ReplyDeleteJust went to our Carson City NV Costco to get more of this wonderful product and was told it's no longer in stock. Apparently, it's seasonal and should be back in time for the holidays. The manager put in a request to stock it all year round because of the demand.
ReplyDeleteI was not aware that it can be frozen and wonder if it's the same consistency when defrosted.
I love it! It goes great with Boulder Canyon chips made with 14 different veggies. Wish Costco would get those chips back in soon.
ReplyDeleteAs many of you have already posted, I fell in love with this dip and, to my chagrin, it was gone the next time I went to Costco. I did some digging around, and the way it works is that each geographical region carries the same products. So, if the dip is gone from one Costco in the Bay Area, it is gone from all of them. But...good news! I called my local store and they said that if enough people put in a request in a specific geographic location, they will bring the product back...and they said that it doesn't take that many requests. So, please call your local Costco (especially if you live in the Bay Area;)), and let's get this product back on the shelf!
ReplyDeleteI live in Minnesota and just discovered Skotidakis jalapeno yogurt dip at our Maplewood Costco store. I love it too. I have food allergies and often cannot eat premade dips. This is a terrific product for me. The taste is wonderful and it is a product Costco should continue to carry because it has legions of fans. I tell all my friends about this product. I wish it was available at more stores other than Costco. So Costco, you better be sure you have an exclusive!!! thank you. Eeeds
ReplyDeleteI, too, have grown attached to Skotidakis, and last week when we went to Costco in Signal Hill, CA, it was gone. All week I've been completely confused at snack time. In fact, I've chosen NOT to snack at some days simply because nothing quite compares. If you ever can get it again, try it with the delectable Costco grape tomatoes (they're from a variety of different growers but all are equally flavorful). I really miss my yogurt dip. :(
ReplyDeleteI love this dip too. My favorite way to eat it is on Pretzel Crisps, also sold at Costco! :) -AC
ReplyDeleteVery easy to make, just go to the company website and look at the ingredients list... I put it in a food processor and added things to taste.
ReplyDeleteedit to that... process everything but the yogurt and THEN stir in the yogurt, otherwise it will get watery
