A Review Of Skotidakis Jalapeno Greek Yogurt Dip On Sale

The current coupon book ends tomorrow 1/29 and I thought I would make a few comments about this fun dip that is on sale.

It comes in a 24oz container, so there is enough if you want to serve a larger group of people.  As for the dip itself, it is a competent, well made product that I think has a lot of uses. It has a bit of heat that builds but it is not heat only for the sake of heat, it definitely has flavor.

However, it is not an overpowering flavor, so it should be a good crowd pleaser. People that want some "zing" in their dip will like it but those with milder tastes will not find it overpowering.

And I think it is versatile too. We had it with some the Garlic and Black Bean Tostitos that I am fond of and it worked pretty well.

My wife also suggested that it would be great on baked potatoes and I think that would be a excellent thing to do to a spud.

I also see this as a garnish on Mexican style dishes.

While not the most amazing dip on the planet it is a good product and being yogurt based, it is probably healthier for you than something based on sour cream.

I recommend the product and the next time it is on sale, we will probably buy it again

  1. I bought this dip and loved it. Went back for more and am told by Costco that it has been deleted. They checked and found me one location that still had some. So I went there and bought ten yogurts and have frozen them. I hope Costco gets this item back again, before I run put of this dip. It is sooo good and versatile.

  4. I recently bought this and love it. Tonight I took 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts and placed in a baking dish. Then I put a half inch thick layer of the yogurt on top of the chicken and sprinkled thyme and rosemary on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. It was delicious and my husband says he wants me to make this often!!!

  5. Not sure what part of the country you guys are in where you can't get it anymore, but it's still in stock in Denver as of July 2012. Has been for a while. Now if only we had Kirkland Greek yogurt back on our shelves...

Just went to our Carson City NV Costco to get more of this wonderful product and was told it's no longer in stock. Apparently, it's seasonal and should be back in time for the holidays. The manager put in a request to stock it all year round because of the demand.
I was not aware that it can be frozen and wonder if it's the same consistency when defrosted.

  7. I love it! It goes great with Boulder Canyon chips made with 14 different veggies. Wish Costco would get those chips back in soon.

  8. As many of you have already posted, I fell in love with this dip and, to my chagrin, it was gone the next time I went to Costco. I did some digging around, and the way it works is that each geographical region carries the same products. So, if the dip is gone from one Costco in the Bay Area, it is gone from all of them. But...good news! I called my local store and they said that if enough people put in a request in a specific geographic location, they will bring the product back...and they said that it doesn't take that many requests. So, please call your local Costco (especially if you live in the Bay Area;)), and let's get this product back on the shelf!

  9. I live in Minnesota and just discovered Skotidakis jalapeno yogurt dip at our Maplewood Costco store. I love it too. I have food allergies and often cannot eat premade dips. This is a terrific product for me. The taste is wonderful and it is a product Costco should continue to carry because it has legions of fans. I tell all my friends about this product. I wish it was available at more stores other than Costco. So Costco, you better be sure you have an exclusive!!! thank you. Eeeds

  10. I, too, have grown attached to Skotidakis, and last week when we went to Costco in Signal Hill, CA, it was gone. All week I've been completely confused at snack time. In fact, I've chosen NOT to snack at some days simply because nothing quite compares. If you ever can get it again, try it with the delectable Costco grape tomatoes (they're from a variety of different growers but all are equally flavorful). I really miss my yogurt dip. :(

  11. I love this dip too. My favorite way to eat it is on Pretzel Crisps, also sold at Costco! :) -AC

  12. Very easy to make, just go to the company website and look at the ingredients list... I put it in a food processor and added things to taste.

    1. edit to that... process everything but the yogurt and THEN stir in the yogurt, otherwise it will get watery

  14. 2/3 Fage non-fat yogurt and 1/3 Skotidakis Jalapeno Yogurt Dip both in a bowl. Don't really mix them, just place the jalapneo yogurt on top of the Fage yogurt. Then put half of each on a spoon and eat it as though it were ice cream. The combination of the cool Fage with the spicy jalapeno is fantastic.

  17. Skotidakis Jalapeno Greek Yogurt Dip is fantastic. Called local Costco (SoCal) and regional manager; basically was told I was out of luck. Even resorted to calling Skotidakis in Canada to find out where I could purchase the product. Out of luck...so very disappointing!!!!!

  18. Just another reason to hate Costco... Find a product you like and you never know when they will decide to get rid of it, it's happened to us on numerous occasions - I need to re-evaluate our membership.

I had my last taste of the heavenly dip on Saturday and found out later that day it was gone.

  19. I loved the Dill & Cucumber, but it's not there any more. Supposedly Whole Foods carries this brands, but there isn't a market real close to where I am. Costco you tease!

  20. Where in the world can this dip be found/shipped from? The Costco in Charlotte has not had it this year (2014) and we request it in writing each time we shop... sad sad sad
If anyone can share where this dip can be found please share to atopnotchservice@yahoo.com
    ~Thank you

  27. Skotidakis yogurt products are excellent! The first item I tasted was the yogurt with honey - Divine! and I was so glad to have discovered it for my family. Then it went missing. The other brands could never complete and I stopped buying yogurt. And now the Jalapeno Dip is in my local Costco in Nanuet, NY - it is also divine!. Please Costco if you have to get rid of a brand, please let it be one of the others keep Skotidakis on your shelves.

  28. I am relieved to find out that there are other people in the world suffering because Costco is so cavalier about stocking this product! It is amazing. If I ever see it again, I will buy everything I see and hoard it like a doomsday prepper. COSTCO!!! ARE YOU LISTENING??? You got us hooked and now we are addicted. I need my fix! The other products you carry are nowhere near the quality. PLEASE bring it back.

  31. It's funny to come across this. I have been addicted to this stuff, and Costco didn't have it both times I went in the last month. I contacted Skotidakis and got a prompt reply that Costco is their only distributor in the US. Then I contacted Costco and was told they stopped carrying it because it was not a big enough seller to justify keeping in on the shelves. Boo! I'm going to try making it too, but it just won't be the same.

  32. Going through withdraws. This stuff is so popular with my family. We were all buying it. Love is as a vegie dip but also great on burgers and used instead of mayonnaise in my tuna. How can this not be a big enough seller?

  36. Costco does this all the time. They get you hooked on a wonderful nutritious product then pull the rug out from all of us. Chinese potstickers they will always have. We have enough fat slobs here on Staten Island. They also deleted chicken burgers why? I am considering renewing my membership the next time it comes up. I have been a member of costco ever since it was called price club

  39. I am glad to see such a discussion over this dip, I thought I was the only one! In fact, this dip had disappeared from my local Costco for so long that I was beginning to think that it had never existed to begin with! That was until yesterday, you could have not imagined my joy when I saw the tubs filled with creamy, pink deliciousness, thank you Costco for bringing it back!!
